That nose cone looks similar to the Ure Torana. I know it is not Franks car but quite similar in how it points almost downward. The car behind is Harry Bargwanna's Torana.

Yes, the white Rover in the front of the pic now belongs to Sam Taylor . It is the ex-Ken Nelson Rover Chev (it ran a 350 Chev in this photo, but Ken also ran a 5 Litre F5000 engine in it later on). It's now blue and white and has a 350 Chev again.

We're desparate to get them to bring the Rover out to a CAMS State Round in QLD because it is a car with some potential and Sam drives it pretty well in it's infrequent appearances.

The multi-coloured car was once a Commodore (it's an Opel-Something with a 350 Chev in this photo back in 1990) belonging to Simon Harrex. Unfortunately, the car didn't run for long in this guise as Simon sideswiped the armco under the bridge (drivers side) with a fair bit of pace on board at this same Lakeside race meeting after trying a fairly opportunistic move down the inside of Warren Jonssen's Commodore VK. (Schumacher wouldn't have even been able to pull that move off)
Simon managed to walk away from it but he was lucky to do so because it was a hard hit......

The footage made the Channel 7 telecast from memory.

I think the frame has been repaired and is sitting at Simon's workshop, not sure whether it is going to be rebuilt, but the car would certainly qualify for the Historic Sports Sedan category as it was first raced in 1983.

Jeez never thought any one would have any info on this photo. Never knew Simon's car was painted any other colour, but i really liked that car and remember someone on this forum talking about the accident. Dont know how you even can recognise the car in front....Amazing...!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not a Sports Sedan tragic or anything ;) ..... Big Col Smith (roverboy) should be able to back me up on those facts though, he would have been a little tacker running around the place like me back then!

The other car in the photo (right side of the shot) is the Warren Jonssen VK Commodore - (the Jonssens Graham and Warren were banana farmers or something like that from Far North QLD that campaigned in Group A for a few years firstly in the Highway Patrol Commodore TWR VL with Lester Smerdon and then in their own ex-Lusty Commodore TWR VL) Anyway, the car in the photo there was sold to a guy called Steve Swanson up here in QLD who probably would be the first to admit he didn't have the $$$$$ to run it to it's full potential, it was since on sold again, not sure where that car is now though. Smithy???

Pretty sure it was the 1990 ATCC Round at Lakeside because there is a reasonable crowd in the background.

More from Moxo on the Biante forum. Surprised we can't see Senior Mr Boost in this pic.
