Hi guys, anybody know of new cars and drivers that may be entering the category this year or the next.
already know about hossacks audi, cant wait to see that. any info and/or pics on this car or any others would be nice. Also just wanting to know, saw a couple of years ago a story in auto action about a new sports sedan based on a late model bmw with a 6ltr chev i believe but never saw it on the track. any info on this car would be great.

The BMW that you are thinking about might be the car that Goeff Gillespi is building following a fire at QR. You can be sure that when this car hits the track, it will be ready to take on the best! B)

The Gillespie BMW has been shelved for a year since the fire at QR whilst Geoff concentrates on his business. We may see it back in late 2008. Tis unfortunate as it has race winning potential.
Nothing else under construction that I know of.

What a shame. Such a good looking car it was. Would also be nice to see some of the other cars that used to run around eg: Des Walls Supra, Glen Taylors Commodore, Peter O'Briens Walkinshaw and Ivan Mikacs RX7 (the only non V8 that could keep up at the time).... Oh well looks as though the categories definately on the way up, which is good to see

I've heard that rumour too. I'm lead to believe it's Kerry Bailey. Pure speculation of course

The new cars this year included the XJS Jag of Mike Roddy and the new John Gourlay Audi driven by Darren Hossack. Also Geoff Munday will debut in the national series his new Chev Camaro sport sedan at the final round at Sandown in December.
A keen South Aussie fellow has just purchased a series 4 RX7 with Ford Cosworth RS 500 turbo power (590hp) with transaxle gearbox that was originally built by Dick Ward in WA. This car has front running capability and we will welcome him to the series in 2008.
Yes KB has started the building of an Aston Martin (GT1 type) that will have the best of everything. He intends to retain the 300ZX and run a second driver.
Seeing the end of 2007 to start 2008 is 5 months Phil Crompton is to build a better and lighter chassis for the Mustang to bring it nearer to minimum weight and improve where needed. He may cut loose and fit the later shape body.
The Ricciardellos would love to go later model than the Alfetta and are leaning towards the other red Italian brand.
The Smiths from Brisbane are building another engine with about 150hp extra so that should help the Rover jump up the grid as it rides the corners quite well.
Rumor has it that Bernie Gillon (NZ North Island) will return with the ex Fawcett Trans am Jaguar. Glen Brazier from NZ south Island has stated he will race his Corvette in the entire 2008 Aussie series.
Other than this nothing much is happening!!!!
Anyone want to buy shares in the new Sports Sedan company while they are still cheap?
