Posted: Wed Oct 31, 2007 3:18 pmLuke Chambers suffered a severe leg injury when his flywheel ring gear let go and severed his leg.
He is at home recovering following surgery to remove fragments and stich the wound. His calf muscle suffered and he is fortunate to retain his leg so serious was the injury.

Posted: Sun Feb 03, 2008 8:12 amI ran into Luke at Sandown in December. We is walking with a limp as he has lost quite a bit of leg calf muscle and that will leave him weaker in that leg. He was as keen as ever to get back into his sports sedan and hopes to do many rounds of the series with us. Hopefully he is fit enough to start in 2008.
He is a real trooper and is not letting this accident put him aff at all. It was a freak event and the team has taken measure to ensure no reoccurance of the flywheel explosion.
