Hi all,
As requested, I've found the setting to enable the anti-robot registration, so we should get a few less "Travel to Vietnam" and Herbal Viagra Subscription posts on the forum from now on............
So any new member has to type the random generated string of characters to register.
I'll also do a prune of the bot members that have already slipped through and registered.
Cheers,
CD

Righto, I'm going to have to pay more attention to this, we're getting spammed left right and centre..... I restored a backed up copy of the forum this morning but it would appear there are issues with certain threads/topics (I think they are all still there, someone correct me on this)...... I'm looking into whether I can restore topics themselves rather than just the database as a whole.
I'll make it a policy of doing regular backups, the issue of spammers getting in I will have to research further as even though we have the anti-robot thing enabled, we're still getting new registrations...... Grrrr.
Any forum gurus out there?

Hey FalconEL,
AS far as new registrations there should be an option to allow you to ask a question for registration along with the current means. ( The random character generator).
If you set it to ask a question like - how many wheels does a sports sedan have or something similar like that it should help stop even more new dodgy registrations. Unfortunately scammers are getting increasingly better with there bots.
Without being an expert on this forum software i would assume there should be the ability to restore single topics like you can with other forum software.
ill download this forum software and have a play with it and let you know if i come up with anything.
Cheers
