Well I have to come clean there has been no update because we took some big steps backwards
to move forward in a better direction. We have scraped the chassis and is being replaced with
one that incorporates Riverside racings Skills/Knowledge and my personal ideas including seating, tall me comfortably.
It will take us another month or so to get us back to where we were.
With some luck I will be posting some pic soon of infused carbon Kevlar panels. (its a steep learning curve )
Riverside Racing are working on the chassis . Its all good but it means I will spend another 6 months as a spectator.

Hey Ricey, how scrapped was the old chassis?
I have aquired a "suitable" body shell that could be compatible with the Monaro dimensions.

2010 Camaro.

Looking to do something very cost effective ( on the cheap :( )

May even build it up as a floorpan car with factory type running gear?

Just a dream at this stage.........

Decided to get rid of the metal roof.
This is the first panel I have made using vacuum infusion
All the layers of material are laid up in the mould dry.
then bagged, Vacuum applied and the resin is pushed into
The material by atmospheric pressure.

Mould polished, PVA& clear gellcoat

One glass and putting in first layer of CF

A layer of Aramid / Kevlar

All the layers packed
Off and running

The resin flow towards the rear tip

Infusion completed and excess resin being squashed out of the bag

Bagging and flow media removed ready to pop out of the mould

The new chassis is nearly back to the stage it was before the backward step

Hey Guys,

Our turn at Riverside Racing to make an update on the new Rice Racing Monaro.

As Ricey said earlier in this thread, the goal was to build a car that he could drive
comfortably and not compromise on chassis design such as rigidity, weight, safety
and easablility to work on.

As for the body work, Ian has been working hard on making some top quality panels.

rear right quater panel.

Thanks,

Liam & Gary
