Cheers, hatch is next to be lightened, I guttered drivers side door today. From standard door I took 25kg out. Will do the other one too. Upgraded brakes this week, put in R33 GTR rotors and spaced the R32 calipers. Bought a top mount also this week...and looking for a TD06 turbo, along with an injector upgrade from 550 to 1000.

25 kgs out of one door!! Awesome! get stuck into the other one and hatch for sure!!! I can't get over how heavy some hatches are, even on the little Hyundai Excel's they weigh a tonne!

i am curious what it would cost to build a nice solid motor...bare engine, no bolt ons...

Its a hard question to answer. Im guessing your wanting to go with a de head and not a vvl ??

Personally I would always go with a vvl because a ported de will flow slightly less than a stock vvl and you dont have the issues with rockers falling off either.

The easiest way to do it is to know your budget and then to spec an engine around that. Your engine is stock in the bottom end at the moment isnt it ??
What are your expectations in regards to power, how much do you want to make
I know bobby ervin has a tough little sr20 that they are selling based on the 54c which is a soild lifter engine.
He maybe worth while talking to.

my motor is dead stock, so really just want one that can take the constant abuse..at present we have 225 rwkw with a t28 on stock manifold and 550 injectors on pump 98 im going to go to 1000cc injectors, with top mounted GTX3071 with ext 45 wastegate on e85....id be happy with 300 rwkw

Put a set of brian crower cams in there and you will get that figure on the stock engine with all the other stuff your talking about. Im a little concerend on the injector size it may be to small for that figure. How long is makes it for it depends on the tune. The stock engine can make more than people realise and sicne your not drifting it ( limiter bashing) it will make it for longer
what ecu are you running on the engine.

I would look at running 1500cc injectors for the figure your after.
Its e85 so you know your going to use alot more. The 1000cc may do the job but they will be getting close to their end.

The autronic will do the job just fine.
