It would be a safe bet that probably 90% of the currently raced sports sedans in the country are located in NSW and VIC.
Why is it that nearly all off these competitors refuse to leave their home state? I wish I knew. It is not just Mallala, very few Victorians travel to NSW or QLD and NSW competitors don't go to VIc or QLD. Check on Natsoft. Johnson, Gilliland, Robinson, Butler and McCready are about the only ones (excluding full time national competitors).
As for the Mallala round, the only possible draw back is the lack of local cars. Are there even 5 sports sedans in SA? If we want new competitors to join the catagory they need to see the best cars in the country on their local track and hopefully get the locals fired up to join in.
Dispite our problems on Sunday I thoroughly enjoyed last weekend. Not only the time at the track but the time spent socializing with fellow competitors away from the track make our weekends very enjoyable. (tip - Shane Bradford cooks a mean BBQ)
Finally to clear up one point, travelling from Brisbane or Sydney, Mallala is 300km further that Phillip Island. From Melbourne it's the same as a trip to Eastern Creek (check if you want). So if "it's too far" is the only excuse people can come up with then it's time to harden the f#%k up princesses.
