Sandown - Final Round

First up congratulations to James Sera and Dean Randle for taking out the 2010 series. A well deserved and I'd say partly unexpected result with a new car that got up the front of the pack after only a couple of races. Also massive credit has to got to Darren Hossack and John Gourlay, they certainly set the pace all year and were unlucky to have mechanical issues prevent them from taking another championship.

for all the behind the scenes admin work that everyone usually forgets about!

What a great weekend of racing. There was a heap of action in every race, yet to everyone's credit, we were the only category to not have a safety car lap in any race.
Congrats to James, Dean and crew. Also awesome drive by Darren to be so close to the outright lap record.
I've got some good footage from Dean's car, try and post it when I get a chance. Muscat had a huge lose on the back straight when Butler broke the half shaft, how he was missed by Robbo and Cammy was pure luck? (Though i'm sure Deano will say it was his skillful driving!!!)
Oh, and we only had the gearbox out twice all weekend, that's gotta be some kind of new record?

Come to think of it, maybe everyone knew that Bob Gill was driving the safety car and they didn't want to see him lead a lap of a National race?

Great weekends racing, hossacks blinding lap in qualifying (the thing didn't even look like it was going that fast!), James Sera keeping it clean. The blokes in the mid field were having a great old dice, no one really seamed to have an edge over each other throughout the weekend. Must say, if you can snag a few more cars onto the grid, they class will look brilliant with 20 odd 700hp (or what ever today's figure is) beasts flying around.

Everyone knows who has cars in sheds, start haggling, poking, do what you can to get these cars back out there, no point collecting dust.

We managed to pick up the U3500NA Championship and along the way finished every race in the 2010 season B)
Hopefully 2011 will see greater support of the classes other than "20 odd 700hp beasts" in the outright class.
We even ended up 8th outright with the oldest and least powered vehicle in the Championship just by being consistent.
Sandown saw some very quick U3500NA cars of Muscat and Chambers giving the big guys a hurry up.

2010 U3500NA National Champion

Hey Toranaracer, Congrats on your win for the U3500NA Championship, did you end up finishing every race?? Congrats to Dean Randle for providing a great car to challenge John's Audi, and James for winning the Outright Championship, and Darren for coming Second. Congrats to Kerrick for being the Sponsors of this great championship. To all competitors, thanks for your support and racing and hope to see you at a round next year, if I get a chance to go over. To Phil, the U3500 NA class was a hit, and I think it will grow bigger, and with 1 year under belt, it can now be tweaked if there was any issues to make it a good separate championship. Hope everyone has a great off season and hope to see you all next season, for more great racing!! :D :D

Yes, I see a great future for the under 3500cc NA class. It is a home in particular for the Rotaries and we all know there is about 50,000 of them sitting idle in garages.
I do hope some more of them can do what Damian and Graham dod this year as they need some more challenge. A mate of mine has legalised the Hibberd Datsun 1000 with the 20B so he should be back in he fold next year hopefully, but we need a few more to give the class some more depth so a victory is a bigger challenge.
All the same Damians effort of 100% finishing record and a series win is one to be proud of. Not many teams can lay claim to finishing all races in any year, sounds easy but surely is not.

We really need an additional class sponsor for the under 3500CC so I will work on that and hopefully make competing more irresistable.

We will release the 2011 calendar soon and it is looking great with the Nats and the States all working together this time for a win win situation in 2011. You have been asking for it for years and finally we managed to do it so expect a BIG series next year

Great to hear Phast Phil. I know i say it every year but i got a really good feelin about this year in particular. Am expecting alot of new cars and faces and should be a really good season i reckon. Hopefully s2 can really kick on, as like you said Phil there are plenty of cars out there that just need to be dusted off and fanged around a track. Would love to see the heavy metal class kick off as well as i think there would be plenty of elegible cars out there and can see the merit in havin this sought of class runnin out there with the big bangers and s2....
