Can anyone give us some indication of diff gearing for Morgan Park now there has been an extension?
Is it a Mallala/Wakefield type gearing?

Paul will you have the Datto at this round as I see your truck for sale :(

Hi toranaracer,

I reckon you'd be pretty safe with Wakefield Park gearing. No one has had a try of the new extension yet, so it'll be the same for everyone.

I reckon it'll be the same gearing as the current 2.1km track - either a 3.9 or 4.1 for those with the 325/700R16 rears.

Your jigger should give a fair account of itself up at Morgan Park!

It will either be 3.88 or 3.7 for a V8 with 700 high rear tyre. I think similar to Oran Park as the straight is much longer with the extension...however it has a dog leg in it so it will depend on how much we can straight line that.
I used a 4.11 there on the short track and it will be too short in my opinion.

You may well be right. I will do you a deal. I fit the 3.9 and if you are wrong you come over and change for me as I hate the smell of diff oil.
My experience is you are better to be over geared than undergeared.
I have actualy raced with a 3.5, 3.7, 3.89 and a 4.11 on the short track and the times have not varied much to be honest. Same at Wakefield, tried all 4 and the fastest times has come from a 3.89 closely followed by a 3.7.

A 3.9 will do me.

I think we will start off with Mallala ratio (plus it is still in there from the other weekend!).
We will change if needed once we have done a few sessions.

Graeme Gilliland and myself will be heading up from Melbourne.

Now we have all of our bad luck out of the way (Hopefully) we will be making the journey north also.
Spewing you have to sell your car loser, I'm sure you would be hanging on to it if you could.

I should be there in the Falcon all being well. Really looking forward to it actually! First run on the new extension, should be on!
