Yeah I am wondering what cars will turn up for this new group, the under 3.5 litre rule is interesting wonder what the motivation for that was?

We are still working through the Prod Sports Sedan class rules to determine the limitations. It only applies to the Kerrick National Series however the cars would also comply with the overall sports sedan tech regs, albeit with limitations to compete in the PSS class.
The under 3500 class gives the rotary and 6 cylinder competitors (like Graeme Gilliland & Damian Johnson) who are already racing with us a chance to run for their own points and awards.
Feedback so far has been positive and we would love to see more normally aspirated under 3500cc cars running in future and hope this gives incentive.

Hey Phil, seeing as the rules haven't been finalised yet, any chance of increasing it to under 4 litre? Seeing as how i've just spent a s%$#load to build a 4 litre engine to stay in the 2501-4000 class in the state series and my car is only semi space frame so will therefore be ineligible to run in the Nationals?
Also if we elected to run a round of our state championship with a national round, how will that work with half of us starting 10 seconds behind the others.
Not having a go at the new ideas, i think it's great to try something different, just asking the questions that need to be asked?

If im not mistaken the magna runs a holden 5 litre and the monaro a 6 litre, therefore they wouldnt be legal for the new pss rules would they????

Correct Roverboy, under 3500cc is for naturally aspirated cars only. Otherwise you would have Bobby Ervin winning all the u3.5 races wouldn't you. That type of car is far quick enough to be in the open class. Turbo's can turn on extra HP when they need it and have always been a headache to get some form of parity. Personally I like turbo cars and I have a few mates with them and they fit in well with the open class but not with under 3500cc.

It is not difficult to ruffle feathers in motor sport. Some people go off and shoot from the hip without getting the facts right and without giving due thought. Funny that they [improved prod] think we want to steal IP competitors......I thought they took all the low end SS competitors years ago. I had not given IP a passing thought till tonight. The paddock is big enough for us all I suspect.
