Hi all,
Just realised I ballsed up the Thread Title - I meant CAMS/AASA in Victoria........ BAAAAA to me...
Anyway, can someone from ASSA VIC please assist me with the following:
The way I see things, you have the two seperate entities in Victoria running both marching to the beat of a different drum, much in the same way that it occurs in QLD.
If I've got this right you have:
VSCRS - Victorian State Championship Racing Series (CAMS - Sandown/Phillip Island)
VMRC - Victorian Motor Racing Championship (AASA - Winton/Calder)
Does CAMS recognise the results from the VMRC AASA meetings in the determination of the Victorian CAMS State Championship results?
OR
Does the ASSA VIC Club Championship simply comprise of meetings held at both the VSCRS and VMRC?
And the VSCRS and VMRC are to continue on their own seperate paths......
I'm wondering whether CAMS and AASA "get along better" in Victoria than they do in QLD and whether any concessions have been made by either side for the betterment of motorsport as a whole? The reason I ask this is that we had a State Championship Category Managers meeting in QLD last night and there is a strong undercurrent of dissatisfaction with the current trend of one group pulling one way and vice versa..... The pie in QLD is not big enough to be divided, so something has to happen and soon. We have a situation of flagging entry numbers at CAMS events - we only had 140 odd entries at our own round in April this year (this compares unfavourably with the 195 entries we received in 2005) and on the other hand there have been AASA events held with not much more than 50 entries and there was even one event cancelled at QR this year.......
It's all starting to get a bit tiresome really!!
Any advice or assistance from our Victorian counerparts would be much appreciated!!
Cheers,
CD.
