Where are they now??

Postby Htc Motorsport » Tue Feb 07, 2012 9:09 am

I saw this in an old copy of Cams Magazine 2004....

Well-known Geelong
motor sport enthusiast
Warwick Henderson passed away
on 30 November last year after a
courageous battle against cancer.
Warwick was born in Geelong in
1948 and at the age of 17 was forced
to leave school, having inherited the
Geelong newsagency business, Henry
Franks & Co, after the sudden death of
his father.
With a passion for cars and motor
sport, the enterprising young man
began his first business, Henderson
Exhaust, in a small shed behind the
newsagency. He was still operating this
business in Geelong at the time of his
death.
Warwick joined the Western District
Car Club at the age of 18, and competed in motor sport continuously until
last year. He competed in Club, State
and National rallies, before moving on
to Rallycross where he won a National
Championship. He then changed to
bitumen circuit racing, campaigning his
Chevrolet Corvette in hillclimbs and
the production sports car races which
later became the Australian Sports
Car championship. In the 1970s he
purchased a GTAM Alfa Romeo which
he drove in Sports Car events, including
two Bathurst endurance races.
In the last 10 years he had been a
regular competitor in the prestigious
Targa Tasmania event, which he won
outright on handicap in 1994 with Ian
Begley, as well as achieving a number of
class wins in other years.
He was a foundation member of
Geelong Automotive Events and served
as a member of the Geelong 500
committee, and remained an active
member of the Western District Car
Club and the Otway Sports Drivers
Club.
Mr Henderson is survived by his son
Dion, and his partner Jeni

Here is a little bit more of a hint from an article on Corvettes as to owns the car now....someone may know who this is.

A car of particular interest was Stuart M.’s big bock C3 which was the late Warwick Henderson’s, who ran it as a GT car with a body kit. It has a CAMS Historic log book, and Stuart intends entering it in some Historic events next year.

Some good research there HTC. From front on in particular the Corvette looks so agressive. Similar to the famous Spirit of Le Mans 76 car .

The thinking was good on this and actually went alright. Have not seen it up for sale since the 90's.
