(Edited out some unnecessary negative comments about the seller)

It turned up with a passenger seat in it ( seat and harness bolted down to the aluminium floor plating)
And if that was 650 hp my car has 1000.
All that aside it seemed to be a Very strong solid car, just what i needed coming back from
smashing the Capri.
Paddy has put a strong 5 litre in it but it still weighs a ton or two.
If he can dial out the understeer it will be a lot of fun.
I look forward to seeing paddy get some fun out of it now that much of his hard work is done

......Righto, Gazz you're a bloody smart arse......but if it wasn't for you, the thing would still be in pieces in Trents workshop......so thank you for all your help thus far!

As for the car, I used to go and watch it at Oran Park, Amaroo and once at Wakefield, in the early nintey's Gregg came up with an idea to get a little extra funding by selling membership to his race team called "Project X"...and I handed over $20 to do my part to keep the coupe running out there!...a couple of years ago, and as good fortune or luck may have it, I saw the car for sale and was in a financial position to purchase it from Ricey!...and thank you as well Ian, for all your assistance in getting this project closer to being on the track.

It's heavy, it's huge, it is still as team McShane designed it, only now it runs a little 5.0ltr.....but it's all good cause I'm fat and slow! The car WILL be back down in Melb for the Winton meeting, with a view to ironing out the bugs and getting some time in the seat before bringing it up to OP for the state round there in Oct.

Update on the big coupe.....!!!

When I posted the pics in early July it had left for QLD to be finished ready for racing. The car arrived back here about 3 weeks ago, untouched. After much harassment (thanks all the vic ASSA guys for your help with that) we finally got Paddy to work (well his version of work anyway) and the car was finally running on Wednesday this week.

Today a major miracle occurred. To the amazement of a lot of people, it actually did some laps for the first time in about 6 years? There's a couple of things to finish and a few paint touch ups of the guards where we had to modify them for tyre clearance, but all in all it's ok. So unless there's some sort of natural disaster between now and next week, the big coupe will once again get to do some laps around Oran Park....

Here's a couple of pictures for proof, 'cos if i hadn't seen it i wouldn't have believed it either...

The front splitter looks very agressive. Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh at OP.

JD, a mate of ours copied the splitter off the Torana and widened it to fit the coupe. It seemed to work well till he tore it off, so it'll have the smaller one on when we get to OP next week. See you there..

Hey ROJ, It's well looked after at Paddy's place... He ran it at the last Oran Park, maybe we can talk him into bringing it back to the mainland one day?? He has plenty of old pics of the car if you want some copies i'm sure he'd be glad to oblige..

Welcome to the forum ROJ,

You are not the first and will not be the last person that has jumped on here asking about the XB. It was not the only Ford X series Sports Sedan Coupe to run but interestingly seems to be the only one that has survived besides the Jim Richards Big M Falcon.
