Sports sedan regs regarding modification of floorpan cars

Postby MK2 Sedan » Fri Mar 06, 2009 7:15 pm

Hi guys, thought I'd ask you blokes in case someone knows the answer.
I've looked at the regs on the CAMS handbook site and I can't see anything specifically related to this.
I want to know if it is within the scope of the rules to cut into the firewall of a "floorpan based sports sedan" for the purpose of moving an engine back, or accomodating an engine that wasnt originally meant to go in there.

Anyone got any thoughts/interpretations/answers?

Thanks
John

Yes John, you can do that. Remember you'll need to fit an adequate scatter shield around the bell housing/flywheel area once the engine is further rear than standard. Be a 2jz will it?
