Thanks for that info Oldracer always wanted to know where the RX-7 went to after Greg sold it and built the Prelude. That was a quick car around the tracks down here.

It appears that Alan Nolan still owns it after all.He is related to Dennis Nolan who runs an ex Vigurs built VP
Commodore in the NSW state series from time to time.

....
- Norm Stokes also ran a rotary powered Capri back in the early 1990s before he moved up to his RX7.

well I know where that car is, I've had bleeding knuckles from it. Alex from Redline Rotary has it now, it's last event afaik was bathurst national hillclimb where it met the wall.

The owner before that Neil dePau was a handy steerer and got it running properly again after a few years in garages. Only sprints and hillclimbs no racing

Capris In Sports Sedans

A Bruce Smith from Mooloolaba Queensland ran a Capri S/s n early 80's, In '85 he built up a Mazda RX7 mid mounted 12aPP motor, and raced it at Surfers and Lakeside.
I know have the RX7, it has the original logbooks and is basically a Group U car ( CAMS new Historic Sports Sedan category).
I recal reading in the 1984/1985 edition about Bruce Smith's Capri, he was a mid pack runner, don't know too much else about it.

Capris In Sports Sedans

Thanks for all the responses. I'm currently building a capri myself, not for sport sedans but there's a fair bit of fibreglass involved.
I'll try and post pictures soon.
