I would think that one of these would more than likely be the Mark Poole Commodore:

So we basically have no idea as yet with what became of the Doherty and Hubbard cars?

This pic is interesting in that I swear it says Flymo on the side of the car which means it would be Bob Jolly car but it is a VN / VP nose. I thought he skipped that shape all together,

Bob jollys car was first built as a vp then later changed a season or to later. didnt michael robinson buy tony hubbard car before he built the monaro.

Not sure if the Doherty/ Hubbard cars are the same car? But i'm 99% sure the VP in the above pic of Doherty driving is the car that was bought by Michael Robinson and ran in Vic painted yellow in his Bell Real Estate colors. Has since been sold to Chas Talbot who still runs it in Vic now painted white. Was in the big crash at Sandown earlier in the year. Robbo would know for sure..
Yes, that's definitely Bob driving the VP but not sure which car it is. Definitely not the Vr that Ricey has..

the hubbard/doherty car were different although tony built both, from memory robins car used the parts from jim richards xb coupe that robin raced. Riceys vr is the same car as the vp bob only changed the front and rear fibreglass panels.

Thats right. I think it mentions in the AMC article that Graham Booth had tracked down the Doherty Commodore to get the bits for the Falcon restoration.

Attached are some more commodores , the black & pink commodore is the Vigurs one previously mentioned as being Bobs McLoughlin current car . This was one of its first outings at Oran park in the early 90's
The red one hasnt been mentioned to date , its my VL , i built it (another steves toyshop chassi & pannels) after Wayne Selby & his crew stole my green VN (Pate car) & chopped it up & sold the bits for drug money .
l sold it about 5 years ago to a guy named Wayne Smith From whyalla SA . I believe its still in his shed & hasnt turned a wheel. Great car 2nd in the NSW 2002 championship , some one should turn up with some cash & get it going again.

While we are on the subject of commodores , dont forget Les Buttler VL ,Michael ward VL ,Geoff Whittaker VL ,Steven Shiels VL

Sounds like the cops caught up with the blokes that stole your VN by the sounds of it Chris? Either that or you dished out some summary justice of your own?

Nice work to bounce back and build that Red VL after having to go through that s#!t!!!

The Steven Shiels VL is owned by Randall Haswell in QLD, he hasn't run the car at a State Championship event yet although Randall indicated he was keen to race with us. Hopefully they will at some stage because it's too good a car to be used for just doing sprints etc in.

Selby & his crew chief Mark Morton "think" they got away with it at this stage . After they both realised that they were incapable of preparing or driving a race car , they both decided that building an amphetamines lab was more with in their skill level . A police raid of the drug lab uncovered remains of the green commodore , but the place was littered the remains of over a dozzen stolen road cars , harleys ,a bobcat , tipper truck etc etc . With the drug charges in progress they were never charged with the "minor ' offence of chopping up my race car & everything else . I got a few parts back , the main one being a really good bowtie race block , that had been stripped to the last nut & bolt , the bearing caps thrown , & it was left rusting in a paddock .
You cant keep a good motor down & i'm pleased to say its now a race ready SB2 & still making heaps of HP .
As for Selby & Morton , they can just continue to "think" they got away with it for a while longer ................................

I will have to get around to doing a recap of what is what on these. I have to say the thing that amazes me the most about this thread is that with vehc-arbilac's pics that he put up, they have been downloaded 84 times yet I would only need to count on my two hands the number of people that actually do regularly contribute to this Sports Sedan forum.

So who are these are 74 people that are hitting the forum? Why do they not contribute? Come on guys (or girls) get a little active here. The more the merrier.

So this is my understanding:

1) Monterosso VN: Originally built by Simon Ahrens is now owned by Dave Brensell in SA.
2) LUff VN: Originally the Crick Torana. Sold to Crick in 95, Glen Taylor in 97 and then onto Steve Vigur's. Parts used for both Camaro's and chassis now own by Mark Morgan in Bathurst.
3) Darren Pate Lexcen: Sold onto Barry Morcom in 1995, John Gerwald in 1996 then to STeve Vigurs. Sold to Chris J before being stolen in 2000 and destroyed.
4) Doherty VN/VP: Originally built using Some parts from the Jim Richards Big M Falcon. Sold onto Robinson then Chas Talbot.
5) Bob Jolly VP. Changed to a VR front and then sold to Rodney Woods and now owned by Ricey.
6) Greg Smith VR. Sold to TOny Wilson and then onto McLoughlin who uses the Shell on current car.
7) Allan Tillet VN/ VP. Sold to Grant Munday and then turned up on ebay. Now owned by George Mengarda.
8) Brian Walden VR. Possibly still owned by Brian.
9) Bill Harris VP. Possibly still owned by Bill.
10) Brian Callaghan Jr VP. More than likely was a VP V8 Supercar. Which one unknown. Colour inidcates possibly ex B&H or Quix car.
11) Dennis Nolan VR: Built by Steve Vigurs: and now in Qld owned by Rocky Whitebread.
12) Incomplete Car: Sold to TAS, then Graham McMinn and then resold to Qld. Car believed to be still in Qld.
13) John Gerwald VR: Owned by Gary someone and then race by Allan Boughen. Since disappeared and rumoured to be under a tree.
14) Tony Hubbard VN/VP: Unknown
15) Allan Tillet VR
16) Graham Blythman car was not a Sports Sedan but a V8 Supercar. Ex HRT.

Corrections????????????????????

** There is still confusion over the Doherty / Hubbard cars. If Graham Booth tracked down the Doherty commodore for the restoration of the Big M Falcon, then how can it still be getting raced by CHas?
Could it be CHas's car is actually the Hubbard car?
** Could the Allan Tillet VR actually be one of the other cars?
** Has the incomplete car ever actually raced?
