Jones ran the Hamilton car in 82. It was then sold to Rusty. 3 years before 85.

Porsche 935's in Australia

Postby jd yort » Sun Jul 12, 2009 7:57 pm

I found an article on Rusty's 935's. He has actually had 3 of them (in 2005). Two black K3's and the White Alan Jones car which I am assuming is the car above.

1) Original Alan Jones White Porsche 935 imported by Porsche cars Australia. Ex Georg Loos / Gelo Racing. Raced in 1982. French bought this car, painted it black and campaigned it in 1983 and won the title. He then retired th car.
2) Rustys original car. Was imported by Bruce Spicer for John Latham who raced it briefly before selling it to Rusty who raced it in 1982. Was also ex George Loos 9635 but an earlier version. Alan Browne campaigned this car in 1983. This car was then converted to K3 specs to serve as a spare car. It was campaigned by Rusty in the UK in 1989.
3) Built by Porsche Cars Australia and commissioned by Rusty. Used a factory prepared 935 Shell and put a K3 Kremer body kit on it with genuine 935 running gear. This raced in 1984, 1986 and 1987 Championships. This was the car I am pretty sure ended up in Perry's hands before being bought back by Rusty.

I am not sure which is car 6 and which is car 7 but I assume he may campaign the replica 935 K3 as opposed to his original car. Pollards car must have eventually ended up overseas (or buried in someones garage)

Hi,
I have just come from the local panelbeater shop in Mandurah WA.The proprieter had a photo of John Pollard's 935 on the wall and when I enquired about it he said that the 935 was residing in Mandurah with Mr Pollard.

Welcome to the forum Blacksox.

First the De Tomaso resurfaces and now the Pollard 935 is alive and well. I wonderif it is still as raced back in 95/96. I am pretty sure that was the last time it hit the track.

Thank you for the welcome.
The photo of the John Pollard 936 showed the livery to be very similar to that in older photos posted on this forum.
I am hoping to get an introduction to Mr Pollard and view the car.
If this happens and it's ok with him, I'll post photos.

That's great to hear the car is still around, thanks for that Blacksox!
Now if only we could see it run on the track again.

Chris Hone had this advertised back in 86. The photo appears to be taken at OP. I wonder if this car ended up becoming the Pollard car or not?
