What an awesome day of racing with a mixture of winners that will make the point score real interesting.

Kerry Bailey's 300zx dominated race one with Des Wall's Corvette chasing him all the way. Darren Hossack was a little bit behind them but was pushing hard, could see him really trying under brakes in to turn one. There was some good racing throughout the field, a bit of contact at one stage between the Young RX7 and Tamasi Calibra in turn one but Young continued while Tamasi pulled off. Most cars finished which was good to see.

Race two and this time Des Wall was victorious but Bailey pushed him hard while Hossack shadowed them for all the race but just wasn't close enough to challange for position. Daniel Tamasi was a non starter, not sure if the crew manged to get the car ready to grid up but he did start race three.
There was a bit of drama in this race for some as I think oil was dropped on the track and caused a few to go off. Scott Butler spun coming out of the bus stop, got back on the track but then had a moment up at the last turn onto the straight and parked the Camaro there for the rest of race 2
Also some driveline failures, Shane Bradford's Camaro snapped an axle but the crew worked hard to get it ready for race 3, (sorry Falcon EL would of come up for a chat but you guys looked heaps busy!). Anthony Macready's 300zx also busted a driveshaft and parked the car for the rest of the race, the car was fixed for race 3 though. The Ervin RX7 appeared to be having mechanical issues and only completed a few laps a was put on the trailer which was a shame, Chris Jackson made his way through the pack and held 5th postion behind Dean Randles Saab (the amount of carbon fibre on that car is insane!).

The last race was real interesting!
All the cars assembled in the dummy grid under dark clouds and surely enough when the green flag waved for the start of the race the track was wet and everyone was on slicks! The conditions looked really difficult to say at the least, would of been a huge effort just to stay on the track!
Anyway Des Wall lead early on as Bailey slipped back to 3rd behind Hossack. The real mover was Trent Young, he displaced of Bailey, got past Hossack and when Des Wall ran off going onto the straight he took the lead. Hossack chased him and did close the gap but then had a some moments and slipped back again.
Have to say Young's drive in the wet was super impressive, he only had one slight off heading down the hill but gathered it up quickly and managed to get through all the traffic ok as well. Nice to see a turbo car take an outright win too!
Wall and Bailey were having an awesome battle again with Bailey coming out on top. There was plenty of action in the rest of the field and it was totally obvious how difficult the condtions were, cars were spearing off all over the place but thankfully no one did any major damage. Damien Johnson also did well, 6th outright was a great effort.

Big thanks to Kerrick and all the Sport Sedan teams, was a great way to start season 2010.
Also good to catch up with a few guys from the forum too, there were a few laughs that's for sure!

My only complaint for the day was the massive traffic jam on the Hume Highway heading back to Sydney, that really sucked!

Congratulations Trent for your great win in Race 3 and first in the National Championship. Have to be happy with that. It was very action packed racing from what I saw through the webstream. The cameras seemed to pick up most of the action including quite a few of your spins on camera Paul. Looking forward to going through your pics Nadz.

For those who were not there (like myself), the webstream coverage and commentary puremotorsport had on was great, a real step in the right direction for motor racing.

The commentators mentioned that Bryson is bringing in a new car from the States. Does anyone know what is is?
