Safety Gear

Hey guys just some advice, im just wondering do all motorsports have the basic same rules and regs as far as safety gear goes (ie; helmet, gloves, boots, overalls...) as im now on the hunt for some race gear so i can go speedway racing. Will a road going motorbike helmet be elegible????. It covers all the safety regs as far as DOT
and AS/NZS1698 approval goes... Any advice would be great...

If you have a look at the Nasr web site

www.nasr.com.au

Under the safety menu they list the requirements.

Hey Nadz, a bike helmet as long as it has the sticker is fine. You can just use leather lace up boots if you don't have race ones. Proper race gloves and a fireproof suit ae mandatory, however even if you have a 3 piece nomex suit you'll still have to have fireproof underwear..

Bike helmets are ok but when your talking speedway they're not the ideal thing. Bike helmets have a curved visor and your tearoff's wont sit flat. Maybe the bike helmet design has changed since i've looked at one but i'm sure a cheaper race helmet wouldn't be that different to a descent bike helmet price wise.

What division are you looking at ?

You've seen Nadz too have you????

But seriously, I did say any helmet with a sticker, and that's what they'll let you get away with..Not for me but them's the rules.

Oh and Nadz, you need to have one of those foam neck braces as well..
