No actually, although i have kept an eye on both for a while. I am too tall and solid (code for old and fat in karting terms) to run the light categories. Even if I was light enough to race them I haven't been in their league since the mid 90's, and they were only kids then!

It great to see a future star of motor racing stepping into a sports sedan for laps. He probably wants a career in the V8's rather than formula cars. I rate D. Sera up there with Will Power, probably our most talented export.

You must be kinda old like me ;) It is great to see gun karters in Sports Sedans.

Looks like the Audi has made the switch to 18s now too:

And Baily has added some vents to the bonnet:

The front splitter looks like it has had some adjustments too on the 300ZX. Still a great looking car. Would love to see it decked out in this colour scheme.

Going off Natsoft Hossack cleaned up with 3 wins and the Randle Saab driven by D.Sera was getting up to speed. Wonder what happened to Baily??? Hopefully the guys that travelled over can give us a round up on the weekend of racing.

The Randle SAAB was driven by David Sera on Friday and James Sera Sat and Sun according to Natsoft. I dont know if David actually drove the car at all, they may have got the names wrong. David was driving a KZ2 shifter kart at Puckapunyal on Saturday.

Well done to James. Top job for a first race in such an animal of a car.

Shannons site....

Any news on how bad the car is?

Darren Hossack has finally put his name on the Clem Smith Cup with a last to first drive, as the Kerrick Sports Sedans featured at Mallala Motor Sport Park at the fourth round of the Shannons Nationals Motor Racing Championships.

After damaging his new set of tyres for the weekend during qualifying, Hossack was forced to start his Audi-Chevrolet from the rear of grid with a new set of tyres for the feature race.

Undeterred, the former champion scythed through the field, taking advantage of a quick spin by rookie sensation James Sera (Saab-Chevrolet) to take the eventual race win.

“Finally, it’s been one that’s been hard to win for some reason,” Hossack said.

“It would have been interesting had James not spun, but he did a really good job regardless.

“I had to pace myself, but for some reason Mallala has never been easy for us, but it’s good to break through.”

Main championship rival Kerry Baily (Nissan 300ZX-Chevrolet) came unstuck in the Sunday morning race, heavily damaging his car, although emerging from the incident unhurt.

“With Kerry’s crash it takes the pressure off us a bit in the championship,” Hossack said.

“But it’s not how you want to win it.”

Hossack won all three races for the weekend, although multiple karting champion Sera was very impressive during his circuit racing debut, finishing second overall from opening round sensation Trent Young (Mazda RX7).

Hey guys, it was definitely James driving the car, and he did an absolutely awesome job all weekend.
Well done to Dean for giving him a go.

This was the unfortunate result of the weekend for Kerry Baily
