Seeing a though there are some new cars in the build I was wondering who designs and builds most of these chassis? Do these designers/fabricators run workshops full time or is it more of a part time/after hours job?
While I understand in the past that there have been a lot of builder/drivers more recently people seem to buy rolling chassis and fit their own engine and gearbox combination into the car.

The builders of national level cars that I can remember over the years have been:
- K&A engineering
- Colin Hill engineering
- Go Gear/ Dick Ward

There must be more though, any more names to add to the list?

Steve Vigurs "Steve's Toyshop" has built quite a number of cars in the NSW State Series.
Colourscan which I always though was a Printing company owned by Danny Osbourne I think built one of the Jag's off memory and at least one Rx7 S4 which may even be the Trent Young car.

Mark Stinson has built a couple and last time I was at his place he set up the Monaro body on Tony Wilsons car and added adjustable watts link and a few other improvements.
Would be good to see it on the track again one day. Tony was a regular about 3 years ago.
Built his calibra and the old RX7 that Bill Martin ended up with.

Yes, youngs ended up with the ex Colorscan car.

Barry Jameson has made 4 that I can recall. Started with an EB Falcon, then an EF that Morcom still owns (another good car still not racing), then the EL that I bought and recently sold to Shane Bradford and the newish Jag XKR. Barry wants to build a second Jag soon.

Most others are one offs by the owners.

I've seen some pics of that Monaro and it looks awesome, shame it hasn't hit the track yet.
I didn't even realise that the Jameson EL (the blue car?) was still around, forgot about that one altogether!

I doubt you will find any pics of the Monaro on the internet. I have seen some photos of the fiberglass panel work that was done to the car and it looked very impressive.

As far as I know the VS Commodore had all its body work sold off (not 100% sure but I think to Bob McLoughlin in QLD???) and the chassis then underwent some modifications to suit the new Monaro bodyshell.

Hey There Phil, just wondering about an update for the new chassis that you are building, how is it progressing, and any idea of costs yet. As you were talking about selling some, or the plans?????
