Under 3500NA is meant to be a class within the Kerrick series that is a) affordable b) reliable c) competitive d) enjoyable.

The moment you add a turbo to the equation then you pretty much lose a,b,c & d.

Any 2000cc car with a turbo that is built with the same effort, professionalism and budget as any of the 6 leading cars would be competive in the open class, as is any turbo rotary.

These are the rules so build something to the rules and go and enjoy yourself and stop trying to change (or talk about changing) what is a good thing and can become even better with more competitors.

If you had a class to suit every sports sedan that was built without consulting the rules there would be 120 classes and everyone would win their class.
I cannot see anything significant changing as the rules committee is committed to stabilisation of existing rules.

Phil you imply turbos are not permitted to enter u3500 in the kerrick series yet the regs
as I read them do not agree with what you are saying.

At the commencement of the new rules, I spoke to Phast Phil about how he came up with U3500cc when there was no class at state level? As I had just invested a lot of money and time in converting my V6 to 4000cc to run in the 2501-4000cc class, I suggetsed maybe if the class was aligned with a state class it may be a little easier?
Phil's frank and honest answer was that no matter what the class size is, there will always be someone whose car doesn't fit.. (In other words, you can't please everybody)..
I agree totally with his answer. As Phil says, the rules have to be seen as remaining solid. As we all know, it can take a few years to build a good Sports Sedan, and there's no incentive for someone to build a car that's not going to fit in the rules when it's finished.

And Toranaracer, the parts are finally here, so all going well, we'll be back out to play with you by the time Sandown comes around. Just as long as you promise not to bite at Turn 1...Haha! Maybe we can get you a muzzle???

CAMS will not recognise a NA class in their regs.
For the purposes of the Kerrick series trophy for under 3500CC we (the series management) have decided to only recognise NA cars and place all turbo cars in the S1 class as they rightly should be.
Ricey88, get your nose out of the rule book and get your car ready to race in the series that you claim to love racing in as I cannot remember the last time you entered.

If you had said it was a Phil rule I wouldn’t have been confused and yes I will be entering the Vic round.

Good to hear, we need a good rollup for Sandown as we are not breaking any entry number records at EC on the 11/12th.
Maybe we should have more Phil rules? At least they make sense to me.
Who else is going to join the under 3500cc brigade next year and keep Graham and Damien honest?
A mate of mine is working on the Hibbard Datsun and shrinking the wheelbase so hopefully he will do in 2011 what he wanted to do in 2010.
Any advance on 3?

My goal is to have a few good NSW state and Vic u2L rounds next year. If car speed, budget and timing allow I will consider a run with the fast guys... but along way to go yet...

Hopefully the two 20B rx-7's from Vic (Muscat and Chambers) run at Sandown and maybe more rounds next year.

I am pretty sure McLoeds 20B rx-7 will be circulating by then, thats if they stop changing it. It will also be fast. That car is well funded and engineered.

I was wondering when we might see that car, i was worried we would not hear of it again this year. Should be good to see knowing the Mcleod family love for race cars...
