Love your work JD Yort!

That Porsche 944 (or was it a 924?) that Colin Bond raced was pretty quick from what I have read, wonder what ever happened to it? I think they ran similair cars at Le Mans.
The white Dick Ward RX7 was quick too. I think its fair to say that it started the trend of building those super light rotary powered series 4 RX7 bodied cars. Wonder how many Go Gear ended up building, pretty sure a few of them got sent to Indonesia.

Good find that Sedanfan. Interesting to read some of Lee Nicholles comments that the Monterosso / Newbound car was destroyed and reshelled, not just destroyed completely. Also that Dick Ward supposedly has the last built RX7. In the Mikac thread I had him tagged as having the original built car still.

Thanks jd yort,

Did you see the last video put up from Sandown? Showed some of the older classics. Don Hulmes rotary mini, Ceveri's sierra, was that benincas alfa parked after the bridge? Thought the Carling Rx7 s4 turbo (dont see many pics or video of that car) flashed thru on the main straight after Van Zelms crash, an old mates mazda r100 at the end also, brilliant.

From memory the Monterosso/Newbound "wreck" became the Newbound S4 RX7 which is now campaigned by Luke Chambers here in Victoria.

Loser can you confirm if this is correct?

dose anyone know info about the Escort in the back ground(Top left of first photo)?? I am trying to find my original log book and that car looks very close to mine... The color looks the same as the original color inside my car around the rear quarter windows.

It looks like a MK2 Escort front spoiler but cant tell the style of flares as mine are quite unique being bolt on torana style.

Hey Dave ,

The top top left looks to me to be a Gemini. More than likely the Doherty car. THe next car down is a Mk1, I am pretty sure it is this car here

which I think was raced by John Vernon. It was the old John English Bryan Byrt car.

I will have to go back through my db for you and see if I can see anything else that could be it.

Thanks JD.. That car looks a little more serious than mine!

I also think my rear spoiler is different to the norm (with Escorts) and would be easy to match to an old photo.

Cheers
Dave
