cant wait to see the last race on tv!!
i think it finally showed where all the cars are.
tony
darren
luke
kerry

although lukes tyres would have been a little more worn by this stage. still he cant match a 105.9. i must say though i thought he would drop off over the meeting more than he did so he obviously has the car working better than bernie gillon did.

a bit of a dissapointing meeting with the numbers but hey its adelaide so it can only get better from here.

congrats to luke and tony.

(jus like to add an 'i told you so' about tony still being the quickest car around) haha

Ok Boost, I'll agree there but I still said that he wouldn't figure in winning the weekend. He only finished 1 race (which he did break the lap record and win), but he is sitting 8th in the championship. If he came through from the back in the last race, that would be a great race to watch, hurry up speedweek and show it!!!! :D Congrats to Luke for winning the weekend, Kerry for coming 2nd, and Trent 3rd. Also congrats Phast Phil for the well deserved 4th place.

Hope there are some pics from the weekend on the site soon, Love to see some action shots from the weekend.

:D :D

look i am a log time sports sedan fan. I am not having a go a one particlar person.
There needs to be a way of getting all the cars at the same weekend. This needs to happen for sponsors like Kerrick. And also all the people owning a sportsedan. Otherwise the series will fail, cars will be worth nothing and everyones investments will be a waste. i guess its frustration and a love for the catagory.

Heres a few photos i took of the day.

Tony didnt get to complete the first two races and therefore had the best tyres in the end.

Darren had electrical dramas and second race was almost underway when they got the car finished so was very lucky to get out... up to second from last and kept that spot in the last race, tyres not as good as tony... the third race was dry (earlier on the day for race two it was damp) so that and great tyres wouldve got the alfa the best lap time.

And, Mr Boost. what do you mean by "a bit of a dissapointing meeting with the numbers but hey its adelaide so it can only get better from here" hope that means... only the first meeting for the season!!?? hehe

Photos are a bit biased to my favourite, but you get that!!

Alex.

I see your point and like you I am a big sport Sedan fan too.
Its is just hard to get 100% commitment when it is an "amateur" based series, note I am using that term loosely as there are some gun drivers and top line cars in the series. If the guys had million dollar backing and worked full time on the cars there would be no excuses for not showing up, unfortunately (or fortunately for some of us!) Sport Sedans aren't at that stage yet.

Love the pics carcyclehearse!!! Love the Audi and that Blue on Phil's Mustang looks great (sorry love blue).

I agree roads, it is annoying that people don't show, and there does need to be more money and sponsorship of the series, but with more money may mean more rounds. I'd love that if there was some way to get them to Tassie. Look at what has happened to V8 supercars now. They are talking of cutting the grid again to 28 cars, and the at Bathurst may invite some of the devolpment cars to run to bring the field back up to where it was.
Hey Phil, is there and actual Oz Championship for under 2 litre cars, beside the state championships that is, and is that run only over 1 round or the same amount as the national. As this could be another way to boost fields, as there is a lot of under 2 litre cars on the eastern seaboard.

I follow you 2002 turbo.
Tony probably had the best tyres but the times where never matched all weekend.
luke done a great job. Would have been tougher if darren and tony didnt have there initial problems.
Darren had elec problems.Tony broke stub axel and lost a wheel with disc and caliper, damaged an upright, and lost the body work. race2 broke a bottom wishbone turn one (prob fatigued from first problem)

Bloody hell Tony sure had a tough weekend, breaking parts like that aren't good especially if the car goes around the track as fast as the Alfa does. Good on him for taking out a win and resetting the lap record.

The Youlden Mustang ran a 4 speed configuration on the weekend. It certainly helped on a clear rolling lap but alittle slow off the turn when in traffic but we would run it again.
5 speed at P Island should be great to see the boys in action.
Does anyone know what is the highest speed recorded by a sportsedan at the island????
To all that helped us out with the loan of carparts and equipment at Mallala ... thank you.
