Yeah i found that out JD thanks mate..... Not good news but that happens in this sport that we love, hope his family copes well. They were actually quite quick in the first race, looked and sounded like more than 500hp... I dont mind em as a invited category..

NSW SS on the rise!!

I certainly wouldn't buy any car that didn't fit an existing class. Still I see it here too with people locally building cars, they import all these flash parts from overseas, spend mega bucks then at the last minute pick up the CAMS manual and find their car is not compatiable with any existing category!!

I also remember that ute series from the early 1990s. Mr Boost and I as kids sat in the grandstands at Oran Park bored out of our brains while that rubbish ran before the Sport Sedans, that category was utterly terrible!!!

Anyway the Nascar trucks have run in the 1min 42sec bracket at Eastern Creek so fairly quick but not right up the front with the leading Sport Sedans.

That ute series had some big names in it... Was it Glen Ridge? Someone Parthington? Think in one of their few meetings they ran as an ATCC support at OP. Shocking.

Anyway from the website it looks like those utes are Qld based so some of you Qlders can pop on down to the OZ Truck Shop at Morayfield and order yourselves in a Turn Key race ute to run. :p

Yes they are QLD based. Have been running non CAMS events for a while. $74000.00 !!!!!! Really. There are 2 multiple QLD State Championship winning cars for sale currently. You could buy either one and probably run it for a year for that much.

you could buy mine and do 37's around the creek (5 secs faster than the utes) and run it for 2 seasons!!! for 74k!

seriously though they were a great input. i really dont care if they look like utes, they are just sports sedans the same as us. If it wasnt for them on the weekend it would have been a much more boring race meeting too! i get what phil etc is saying but as 2002 said, look how many others are logged 3d does it really hurt? they lift the category profile, theres no denying they look professional, sound FANTASTIC (better than most ss v8's) and made for an interesting race for some people who would have spent the w/e alone on the track. boo hoo

You guys are missing the point....they are not sedans. Lets say one of the ute guys decides to put a decent engine in that ute (not the restricted 500hp thing he has now) and starts running way out front, lets say the 3 of them do, i think your argument will change...Lets nip it in the bud before you have a problem you cant fix...and any way to put a sedan body on is not that hard. All we want is for them to be logged as something else and then they can run with us.

yeh yeh no i get it totally, i agree they should be re-logged but dont bag out the people who let them run. its cams fault they have a 3d log book. Give a round of applause to those who let them run and helped our category survive on the weekend!!!!!

Blah Blah, same old same old, lets get all the sports sedans out of the sheds, every member on this forum has stated, we will be there, ( me included ) the same argument has been going on for how many years ??. ( 20 + ) Can we put aside all the trivial aspects , All that is needed is for us all to unify for OUR COMMEN GOAL. Bring them all back ?????, not everyone can run every meeting, though if a small percentage can make State rounds, even if we allow others to participate at some events, the Sports Sedan catergory MAY surive. Lets not forget we have NO MAJOR SUPPORT Aside from KERRRICK at the National rounds, and also the other great supporters from the state series, that put many $ from their own buisness,s to many race meetings. Unless we can supply a good numbers, :( CAMS may FORGET US !!!!
