Any one matey, anyone at all. When there are so many good cars and other reasonable cars that could be updated cheaply there are no excuses for not running them, selling them or giving them to a good home. I have to work out the weight brakes for SS but I'm thinking an indycar Buick 4.5 aspirated in a light Torana, Calibra etc would be cheap and fast. There are a number available for about 15 k and they make a reliable 525 bhp. I'm figuring that that power with a sequential six speed would be a good starting place for a lightweight competitive car. Invite comments!!!!!!

Yes 'tis true. The mighty Buick is a great engine, just don't tell everyone. We'll keep it our little secret. Whilst we've had some teething problems, (all to do with the retard who owns it and drives it) it's very quick even in an overweight car with an overweight driver. I'd really like to see one in Toranaracer's car. Lighter and a much better chauffer. :D

Now while i'm on the subject, whoever it is out there who has the LOSER voodoo doll and thinks that it's hilarious to stick pins in it when i'm at the front of the field at Phillip Island with a lap to go, GIVE IT BACK! It was funny the first time, but not so funny any more. :(

No good for me Ricey, bellcranks and Hewlands, I'm as dumb as a box of hammers, motor in the front gearbox in the middle live diff in the back. I can ask lots of people about Transam type cars in the US. Spoke to Bob Riley and he was very helpful re the advantages of 3 over 4 link and the deficiencies of Independent in certain situations. Tyre preservation was the major advantage he saw and we run such short races anyway. Good luck with the new jigger it looks the goods, tell me when you want a current spec SB2.2 with over 800 at legal revs, or an R07 with more at illegal revs Bahaha

Entries close this weekend and I only have 9 entry forms (not all paid for) and only one under 3500cc entry, being Toranaracer.

Lets hope the mailman has a big delivery tomorrow. There are several more teams that indicated they would be entering mallala in the "notice of intent to participate" forms that are conspicuous by their absence.

About 6 months since the last round of 2010 series so plenty of time to be ready. I will make a decision early next week on what we do if the mailman does not deliver the expected ones.

As for those that have completed all the forms and paid the entry fee thank you very much for your professional approach to your sport. I will endevour to rally the troops so you guys in particular enjoy a vibrant event at Mallala.

No actually, he brought nothing at all (but bills).

I will be on the phone tomorrow to call all tise that indicated participation but I suspect if some did not bother to put in an entry they are not actually serious about racing.

I know at the following 3 rounds we will fare OK because of the state participation (assuming they come good as promised) but it seems that future races at Mallala are in jeopardy as no-one from SA bothered even to participate in their own home state round. This I do not understand. It may mean in future the only way for a state to be awarded a round of the National series is for it to double as the state Championship. This may mean we end up with a 3 round series as I am not interested in losing money again.

It is a pity as Clem Smith puts up a prize and a cup and actually does some promotion. By contrast all the other tracks seem to do nothing in relation to promoting Nationals race meetings.
