Could someone please advise if it was removed deliberately or it is a technical fault?

Where's the MCM posts?

Postby FalconEL » Mon Aug 08, 2011 7:50 am

As far as I'm aware, it must be a technical issue. There are three admins on the Forum, myself, Phast Phil and ssedan14, none of us would have any reason to remove the thread.

I have the ability to remove posts, users, etc., but have had no reason to do so so far.

The same thing happened to the YouTube thread.

I will get the guys at the Little Web Company to look into it, it would seem however that we have been inundated with bots/spam etc. despite the forum settings being correct.

Where's the MCM posts?

I deleted it as it was going nowhere, some were getting into personal mud throwing and MCM has nothing to do with the Kerrick national series.

Anything other than topics related to the Kerrick series, sports sedan eligibility, Kerrick sporting regs and sports sedan history (we do have quite a past tradition that I know many of you love) may not survive on this forum so stay focused please.

Phast Phil,

As one of the longest serving and most active members of this forum I am extremely disappointed if this is the direction you are choosing to go with this site. A forum is exactly that, a forum where open discussion should occur and all opinions should be able to be expressed, be it right or wrong. In my time here I have avoided the politics of all debates over Eligibility, State vs National etc etc for the love of the cars. I dont agree with everything that is said but people have their opinions and it is (or was?) a forum.

Many a post on here has discussed how fragmented the Category is and here you have a site where everyone meets on common ground and you seek to censure / restrict what goes on? It is commonly known that I have no vested interest in any series and a complete neutral party as I am just a fan. If you are choosing to limit discussion to the National series at the cost of State series discussion then ultimately I will be leaving the forum.

A rather short sighted view in my opinion.
How do expect the top level of the of the category to grow if there is no recognition or support for the main basis of the class i.e state level racing where all national level racers start out. A bit rich too considering the Kerrick series has banked on the support of state championship cars to prop up the national series grids this year.....

This is in the 2011 Kerrick Series thread:

If the MCM was negotiated early enough it could have and would have been considered for inclusion to the 2011 Kerrick series"

Come on Phil, fair's fair. In May you were happy to look at making MCM a Kerrick round and now "MCM has nothing to do with the Kerrick national series." It makes you look very "I'm not involved so nobody else can play either", which after discussions with you I'm sure is not the image you're trying to portray.

There are a lot of threads on this forum that could be classed as "going nowhere". The point of a forum is that people are able to put forward their opinions, whether others agree with them or not. Whether the threads end up as policy documents or new technical regs is not the idea. I would have thought you would welcome any discussion on all things Sports Sedans.

I agree that individual posts do from time to time get into personal attacks and they are not welcome. But to delete an entire thread reeks of being a hissy fit of the highest order.

Where's the MCM posts?

As the person responsible for starting the thread I am aghast that this form of censorship has crept into our little forum. I admire Phast Phils commitment to the series and his protection of Kerrick as the series sponsor. I however do not realize how any discourse on the BIGGEST live audience that Sport Sedans will race in front of since a support race in Adelaide F1 days. The people that attend the MCM are a different demographic to V8 Supercars and it gives an opportunity for SS to get their product in front of this audience. If you looked at the crowd at the Time Attack you get an idea that you can get a crowd at non V8 supercar fixtures. SS cars are far closer in their technology to Time Attack cars than Supercars. TA cars could with tyres and some aero mods run on SS competition and looking at the times they did be very competitive. We the sport sedan community need more competitors but much more importantly we need more fans and the MCM is a great opportunity to get them. I hope that every team at the event has time to answer the probably banal and ill informed questions of the public. NASCAR do the pr stuff way better than Supercars Australia and their fan base is much wider demographically than V8 supercars. I'm not saying that the MCM is a panacea for all that ails SS racing but is a great opportunity to get some new supporters and hopefully new competitors. I hope that Phil brings the new mustang even as a static display incompleted so that people can see an undressed car and perhaps Phil can get some orders!!! Please discuss!!
