Great ideas guys, real positive stuff!
I like the idea, ultimately the pro's and con's to this need to be discussed. I'm only one voice, but I'll contact the NASSA Delegates in each State and we'll sort something out. I understand Phil Crompton is still in the US at present, so we will need to run the idea past him also.
I also believe we should be looking at promoting the Historic Sports Sedan movement with their own section of the forum because we have some great cars out there that are a part of our heritage and should be recognised. There have been some beautiful restorations of the Historic cars back to their former glory!
I am also a believer in better utilising our Facebook page, there is a Sports Sedans Australia page that had been set up but not updated regularly enough, there are other Sports Sedan pages you can "like" as well.
Cheers,
CD.
Hi CD
This could be set up in a couple of ways,
Here is one suggestion for a Forum setup!!
Have Headings of National, State, Historics!!
Under each you could have a Points table, to show who is leading the respective series
Rounds - where people could discuss the up coming round and have a reace report as well in there
Meetings - so other people can know when theire are meetings on for their respective clubs, state or National.
And how about a setion for the Cars, as pick a car for the month from each series/section and then get a photo of that vechile and put up some details of that car. eg. Driver, engine, who has owned it before, or if it has been built by the person (thought this mite help you out JD and 2002)
I know that obviously, there will be times when things will be bitched about and discussions get heated, but we are all here for 1 reason?? WE LOVE SOPORTS SEDANS/TRANS AM.
And I know that there are people on here that would agree that the racing back in the late 70's early 80's ( before the Porsches),, was the best racing there was, and you had the likes of Richards, Brock, Jane, Moffatt, Geoghan, Grice and other wanting to RRACE AND TRY TO BEAT Edmondson, McCormmick, Rodgers, and the like.
With the New Car of the Future, some of these parts will help this class out with getting new parts (eg. Gearboxes), so if this class can capitalise on the success of Muslcle Car Masters/Bathurst, and have the Website displayed on the cars as well as the series sponsor, then this is the time when this weill start to get back to how it was in the mid to late 80's when you had the OBrien series and the like.
If they all come to the one place the more interested people will get and this will have a flow on effect.
Also CD I agree, the Facebook page does need to be updated, Maybe see if you can talk to the photographers from each round and get them to put up a sampel of the pics they have taken, then a link to their website if anyone wants to purchase them.
Sorry for the long winded reply!!
Thanks
Dasnowman
