Gary Stevens is enjoying a happy homecoming, Disco is sharing Victories with Chris Muskett and Gary(loser) has been working on everything but the canteen Staff and that's probably tommorow. The Cameraderie is great and the crowd enthusiastic, too long between drinks for us SS starved crew. Might have to have a whip round to get Josh Burdon in one for next year.. Role on tommorow !!

Well after quite a few years of not having Mainland Sports Sedans over and racing at Baskerville, I must say it was a great days racing, and gee how have I missed seeing these cars live!!

Congrats to Chris for the wins, and what a great car he has!!

Hope this is the start of more to come for more of these cars to come over and race!!

Great racing today, Chris Muskett had the answers, fast cosistent laps. Brucey Banks going great but grip went away, but not as bad as Disco Dave. Faaark the Dodge killed the Michelins, he will get the set up happenning and it should be a force to be reckoned with. Let's get all those out of sheds and sold or raced. The Vic guys and of course the lovely Anne are an inspiration, their passion and desire to take the show on the road is fantastic. Great to meet fellow SS devotees and forum members. Looking forward to seeing Lauren Grey in Garys Torana at the Island .

Wow, what a ball tearer of a weekend. Right through the field there were battles going on. Muscat, Disco Dave and Brucie BBQ Banks were battling for the honours, while Robbo, Garry Stevens and Graeme Gilliland (now known as Julia) were keeping them honest. Craigy was loving the new gearbox and newcomer ;) Bob Gill was an inspiration. After the first race something clicked in his head, and he was on a mission carving up the field....Literally :rolleyes: Steven Bell made a great effort to get the Capri fixed and running and John Douglas' effort of rolling up to the dummy grid with the car still on the trailer was something i've never seen before. Paddy Matchett finally had the big McShane coupe out and managed to get some laps in. In fact by the end of the weekend we had him catching cars..Good job Paddy. passing lessons next time out!
Off the track was just as much fun. Bruce, after blowing an engine Saturday morning decided he'd try and burn the bus down as well. Mate, you've got a barbie in the truck, use it...haha..The crowd was awesome and i've never seen so many dagwood dogs in my life. The Centreline crew were busy repairing the front splitter that was getting torn up by the bumps every race, Craigy decided to break one of everything and Julia's Right rear quarter panel must have had a "hit me" sign attached, with no less than 3 hits in 3 races.
All in all a superb time. The people are friendly, crowds appreciative and enthusiaistic and the buzz around the place was electric. I'll be going back for sure.

Oh yeah, and Profi you can stop work on the Hyundai. It's not a new idea any more. Eric Taylor was out there racing around in his excel powered by an RB30 turbo. What a mchine...

Saw pics of it a year or so ago, who in their right mind would build a hyundai? didn't even bother checking to see if there was another one hidden away. The car seems like a good bit of fun.

What's the plans for next year, did the event go well enough to go back?

There's the problem Profi. There shouldn't be another anything hidden away. They should all be out racing...

It was an absolute delight to have Sport Sedans in Tasmania again. We have such a rich history in the fastest and most exciting class in Australia. I know that the vibe down here has increased unbelievably in the last month. Talk of the meeting and then the fantastic quality of the racing. We have a heap of talented fabricators in Tas and a good array of driving skill. The Minehan clan are all skilled car builders and drivers and have a Datsun SR 20 powered 1600 and a Fiat 124 sport which has run with 6 cyl Holden, rotary and now a mooted LS series Chev. I have sold two brake packages and a floater 9" rear end since the weekend. There is a huge discrepancy between the haves and have nots of the SS field yet the laptimes were close in the weekend due to the type of circuit Baskerville is and the home town expertise of Banksy, Disco and Garry Stevens. I believe that The worlds most famous Buick powered torana owner is going to bring both of his cars next year. I will have something there for Josh Burdon to drive even if we have to steal his Grandfathers, Tate powered turbo Commodore lol. Hopefully Ball Bag Baily will bring both of his cars for a run at the outright SS lap record held by Alan Jones in the monsterous Porsche 935. Role on Phillip Island !!!!
