It's been a while but were still moving on :)
Doors Doors and more Doors.....
Alright... so in the last post i showed the outside of the door skin being moulded. This time the inside of the door is being moulded. The idea being that we will mould the outside and inside then stick them together and fill the door with impact / fire resistant foam.
In this picture we have cut the inner door panel off that would normally be there in the road car.
We have made a new piece of sheet metal to fit over the hole left by the road car panel. We have left a rectangular hole in the panel near the locking mechanism so that we can still access the locking mechanism as we are planing to use the road car lock. These doors will swing and operate just like a road car in function.
PVA glue sprayed on ready for gel coat.
Tooling gel coat on, ready for fibreglass. At this point there is fibreglass layed down but we haven't taken any pics yet.
