Sounds as though you want the monza back msadyno, its a shame that it is not raced. There are so many cars that are sitting somewhere not doing anything!!!
I would love to see a meeting with Sports Sedans as the main card, just to see how many that would turn up to not only race, but to turn laps, sort of like the muscle car masters.
I would love to see something like that happen!!!!

The flares and spoilers really change the look of the Monza totally compared to
what a normal road going one looks like that is for sure!!
One question though at the time what was the ruling in regards to the leading
extensions of the rear mud guard flares covering over the door skins?
Was this allowed only on these cars or was it a grey area of the rules?
(I don't really remember seeing it on any other cars)

Hey Yort, What ever happened to the Monza that Dick Johnson, John Bowe, (and I can't remember the other driver), that they raced at Sandown in the World Endurance Race. They had to make extra fuel stops due to not running the bigger fuel tank, (and I think they may have even used more than what they were supposed to!!), due to the Veskanda not being ready or able to be passed to race (not sure on this part!!) The ads look great from your collection or did you find them on the net. I have also found a site, that you can get the IMSA BodyPanels (or reproductions) for the Monza, so it wouldn't be hard to build a new one (which I would love to do). :D :D

I always assumed that it was the Jane Monza when it was owned by Allan Browne in 1984. It was painted up in green yellow and white for the meeting. I think the other driver was Allan Grice. I would have though that when Brian Thomson first bought the car it may have been in that colour scheme. I ahve the right up of the meeting from a Racing Car News somewhere, will investigate.

This pic is from the Biante forum. Any idea whose Monza this is? The top pic is of Rusty at Surfers in 94 perhaps but the bottom pic certainly is not Surfers. May be Lakeside?

Pic was generously posted by FordMad17.

The Black one is the Porsche 935 (Ex John Sands/Alan Jones) of Rusty French, and the Monza is Jeff Barnes. The picture looks as though its Lakeside, down the front straight before the left kink I think.

The Monza built by K and A for John Roberts that John Briggs drove was as "ground up" as were the 2 Edmondson Alfettas. Certainly not a re-vamp. As precscribed by the regulations, the roof etc were retained. Only the bear minimum. The chassis was a complete in house constructed aluminium monocoque with a front (mid) engine transferred to a Hewland transaxle at the rear via a K and A style torque tube. Bodywork was fibre glass from moulds. It was never damaged to the extent of requiring re building, as was the case with the Alfetta, after the Surfers fire that almost cost Tony his life. We only ever built one Monza.

Hey K&A,

The John Roberts Chev Monza was the old Red Dawson car though was it not? So did K&A rebuild it from the ground up after an accident or was it brought to you for a rebuild?. I thought that it was not until Barnes owned it that it came in for a complete rebuild?

Also how many K&A built Sports Sedans are there? I assume you have worked on probably far too many to recall but how many would be classified as a K&A built car?
- Edmondson Alfetta 1
- Edmondson Alfetta 2
- Jeff Barnes Pontiac

(glad your on the forum to be able to answer these questions)

Yeah i agree would be great to hear a brief rundown on some of the cars K&A have had a hand in building/developing,
certainly is a company that has a long association with Sport Sedan racing.
