I am on to it. Normally Garry O'Brien scribes for us but this time I do not know what happened.
I will have to check with Rob if some PR comes with the Nationals or whether we need to appoint our own person. I am sure we could find someone keen and cover some expenses but I am just hoping this was a once only hiccup as normally there is reports from every session and something in the motorsport media.

It need not be one person doing it for us. Competitors need to do things themselves!! I'm guilty of not doing it myself. Right now, we see Tony R. running fairly regular Facebook updates during race weekends, we do our Twitter thing, but apart from the odd photo from other competitors, very little gets talked about. Updates between rounds are also lacking.

We're the most interesting category around with a lot of diversity, we've always got things going on, updates to vehicles, new components, lots of things to talk about. We just need to get ourselves out there a bit more.

Yeh totally agree cd, one thing i have always noticed is that alot of the guys who actually run the series
never contribute to the forum or facebook or anything that would remotely publicise the category.
Its probably because they dont have time while making enough money to run these things!
Tony puts the odd photo up on the weekend but its too late by then, regular updates are needed from competitors.
Just the odd photo with some panels off the car in the workshop, a pic of a new exhaust ANYTHING like that is interesting
to the public as its stuff that they dont get to see much on race cars.
The facebook page run by robert ryan is without doubt the most visited, most used sports sedan 'network' out there.
Would it be an idea to approach him to ask for rights to it or something, he for example could pull that page down any
second and we couldnt do a thing about it. It has alot of active members who post continually. ALL drivers and teams should be
part of that page or indeed the kerrick page and should be contributing regularly.
Look at time attacks page, they have 63,000 likes thats right 63000!!!!!!
That means every time they post up a picture or a comment 63,000 people see that in there facebook news feed, for FREE

How do we get teams to contribute? make it mandatory or no pay back at end of year rule?

There is a Kerrick Sports Sedans page Boost, and that should be used to promote the class.
Why not do a feature on the people that are running in the class and use facebook to link it to this site where they can read the full report of that driver/car.

Only one suggestion, sure there would be many more out there!! :D

Thanks

I did reference the kerrick page dasnowman, but no one seems to really post there. I would say no one posts
there as people like to talk about all sports sedans not just the national ones so they go to roberts as anyone
can talk about anything to do with sports sedans there.

I agree boost with that i was thinking that they can start promoting that one more and do write ups as i am sure Robert wouldn't mind putting links up.
As i said that was only one suggestion.
I would like to she write ups on the older cars that got us todays cars like the torana that David wall is restoring.
As they are as important as the aston audio and the alfa

Thanks

I set up the Victorian Sports Sedan Championship Facebook Page a few months ago. They actually have great stats when you're an admin on who is seeing what so you can really see what works. The big thing with them is you need to be constantly posting. It's the only way to get more likes as it shows up in people's feeds all the time.
On a race weekend if I do updates literally hundreds of people see them.
It's not too difficult as CD said earlier, however it still takes time. And if you're busy working on a car it doesn't get done.
You really need someone dedicated to do that job alone.
When QR was on last week and the itv feed wasn't working I was on the phone trying to get info as the races were running so we could keep people updated.
The national series one needs to be utilised like that but it needs to be someone who genuinely has the time to give that it deserves.
