NSSC - National Sports Sedan Committee - Rule Changes

Postby FalconEL » Thu Aug 04, 2016 10:16 am

For those of you unaware, or those that choose to ignore defined processes, the NSSC is comprised of a delegate from each of the Sports Sedan State Associations as well as a delegate from NASSA. There is a process to be followed for submitting rule submissions to CAMS.

Going directly to CAMS Technical is not the way to do it. Despite what many may think, CAMS is not a monolith of 400+ employees. The technical department comprises approximately two-three staff members. Because there is a limited number of staff catering for not only Sports Sedans, but a million other categories as well as a myriad of other disciplines of the sport, they rely on the documented process in the Sports Sedan rules:-

See rule 1.2 in the 3rd Category – Touring Cars Group 3D – Sports Sedans Regulations:

1.2 The National Sports Sedan Council (NSSC) is responsible for reviewing these regulations and making
representations to CAMS regarding proposed changes to these regulations. The NSSC is also responsible
for providing advice in relation to these regulations.
To seek clarification on any of these regulations contact your National Series or State Association NSSC
Delegate.

Pretty straight forward I would think.

From a personal point of view, I would whole-heartedly endorse a fee being imposed by the NSSC per request for clarification of any rule where the person requesting has not bothered to read and comprehend the entire tech regs and the rules actually cover the answer to their request.

In short, if you don't like the way things work, become an active member of your State Association and make a difference that way, rather than bypassing existing processes.
