hi all
have heard through the grape vine that 2009 national sport sedan series will be held at victorian tracks only.
how do they think that they can run a national series in one state only, if they dont won't to travel more than two hours they should just run the vic state series. all decissions should be voted for by nassa members .
can anyone tell me if this is true, and how do other members feel.

I am sure if all Victorians had their way then that would be so, personally I think all the rounds in Qld and NSW would suit me and many others better.

Not true, sponsor will not agree to that nor will all the major teams nor will CAMS.

In any case it will be tough going for all race series in 2009 unless the market turns around and the people who fund teams continue to make some $$$.

Well it couldnt happen as its a CAMS National series and only 2 tracks permit CAMS events...will the series be shorter due to the 'crisis' Phil?

That is the plan.....keep the quality and reduce the rounds to suit the funding and the teams budgets.

Hopefully 2010 back to full strength.

Series to be run by Dean Randle in 2009 so Phast can have a break and work more on his race car and go testing etc.

We will know more after Sandown this weekend as the teams will have a get together and look at the landscape and hopefully agree to what will be best for all the important stakeholders.

Here here Boost, I agree. Thanks to Phil who has been organising the series and hope that Dean has the same amount of success. Hope you have fun at the last round and that you can have the car get quicker and quicker for you. PS. Also thanks for the website that provides the best info on sports sedans in oz, and for allowing access in the forum to talk not only to yourself, but other great drivers and people who like/love this category like yourself. All the best

Thanks for posting that proposal. I like option 1 however i would like to see the Clem Smith Cup added to the list of events, where you would fit it in i dont know, but at the moment i'm flat out trying to get the South Australian sports sedan owners to get their cars out of the shed and prepare for next year. The more bait i can throw at these guys the better. They all have been really lazy but im stirring them up as hard as i can. The cheaper the entrant cost the better and with only 1 National car here at the moment, the TV coverage is not a concern to these guys. Its great to see something is happening for this great class. Sounds like a good direction to head. Thanks to Phil for all his hard work and lots of luck to Mark and Dean for the future.
