No; it was built in 2000 in SA by one of Bob Middletons crew to run in the SS support race at the race of 1000 years ALMS meeting on the full grand prix street cicuit.
Been in moth balls ever since.
Has an evil engine and Chris did OK for his first meeting in the car.
To the best of my knowledge it has no other history.

Will he run the car full time next year??? Hope so as i think it is a sweet looking car. Where can i get photos or any info from the sports sedan support races from the lemans meet. Did Chris also run Bob Middletons NASCAR a couple of years ago? His name seems familiar

I believe the Camaro you have seen is the ex David Jarrett car. I remember seeing this car being dismantled many years ago maybe in the mid 80's at Chevy Action. Many of the parts were sold off and the car was put up on the top of a container in the yard. I remember Bob middleton purchasing the caged out shell then taking it to his workshop. many years passed while bob tried to locate the original motor ,trans axle to no avail. He had one of his workers piece it back together using one of his Nascar engines and a 9" diff etc. and thats the way the car is today.

The Camaro was brought into Australia by John Kay and raced under the Indy Speed Shop Banner. In 78 Develco over hauled the car. It returned to the track around June 81 to AIR meeting. Article on it in Jul 81 Racing Car News. I assumed that it became the Middleton Camaro.

Chris had the Camaro at Sandown but something broke on Saturday. He had a small off that took his front splitter to. Hopefully he will do a few more state rounds.
